Heavenly Blues

I'm Alan Rae and Heavenly Blues is my musical vehicle.

It came together in 2005 when Rhiannon Hill and I agreed to turn up at a networking meeting with instruments and started jamming. As a duo we did a few gigs in France, in Guildford and across Sussex. Here we are in action at the Saltdean Lido. Since then we still play together but we now do things separately as well. Rhiannon now performs as Wynd - an all female ensemble and a wedding band for which I play keyboards.

As for me things have got really busy, I played with Blues Business at the 2009 Himalayan Blues Festival in Katmandu from 7th-11th October.

I've also started a new venture called Marketing and Music which uses some well known tunes to illustrate Marketing issues. Here's a clip about how the Stones illustrate the principles of Personal Branding - from a presentation at the Brand Network - September 2009

I like playing a wide range of music but tend to focus where blues, rock, jazz intersect. I use both guitar and piano according to the needs of the song. Influences include Bob Dylan, John Mayall and the Yardbirds, Miles Davis, the Rolling Stones and the Who plus the Blues and Jazz greats. You never know what you're going to hear next.
